I Don’t Need A Smile From A Mannequin.

I’m really glad I didn’t do one of those New Years Resolution posts… In my mind I WAS going to update this thing at least once a week (shouldn’t be hard at all really) but three weeks in and this is the first. Not only is it the first but it is severely lacking in content. I can safely say that before I even finish typing. Basically, the point of this outfit picture is just because I was so ridiculously happy at my $5 K-Mart Kids dress. It makes me feel very nautical and like I’m in primary school. As a bonus I found matchy matchy earrings in my jewellery box that were a perfect fit. Also, I like the blue hair but that’s long gone. By about two weeks. That’s a long time in my hair world…..IMG_4146

Slightly unusual face that one there.

I hope you can’t see my knickers. I’m pretty sure you can’t but my eyes are bad.

Hands on hips!

I’m Just A Boy With A New Haircut.

I have a backlog of photos but I’ve just been so busy busy that my desktop just keeps piling up with them. These were taken a few weeks back now when our buddy Mike came for a quick visit from Melbourne back to see the old Adelaide people. We’ve known each other pretty much forever so when he asked for a hair cut I didn’t even hesitate. I’m either a really good friend for just doing it or a really shitty friend for playing Guinea Pig on his head. Hmm. Oh well, he got a Hipster haircut so I guess I did ok yeah?!

See, I look like I know what I’m doing….. I don’t. It was all improvisation!

Point proven. I got rid of the hair with my favourite house accessory ever. The hand held Dyson. He wasn’t so impressed. Beats a broom I say.

Looking good Mikey! Nice Zoolander pose by the way!

Like a pro!

Won’t You Come See About Me?

Oooh I’ve been really slack this week. I’ve panned on updating this on a daily basis but haven’t quite gotten there. It was the last week of tafe on wednesday night and even though it’s only a few nights a week, I am looking forward to a couple of extra days of not walking in the door at 10pm. Just sooo tired…. I’ve been making the most of the cold slouchy weather though and these tights are ultra comfy. My little mate Alex at tafe hooked me up with them. She is a rock star! Speaking of rockstars… Is anyone going to see Simple Minds/ Devo & the Church in December? I’m pretty keen!

Action shot. Making sandwiches. Oh yeah, fun stuff!

I’ve been doing an awful lot of 80’s hair. You know, braid it the night before and wake up in a poof ball!

All The Umbrellas In London Couldn’t Stop This Rain.

I had a little play date this afternoon. My lovely little helper Ruby came around to raid my closet. Kinda fun actually. I never did the whole girly dress up thing when I was young so it’s rather entertaining. The rotten rainy weather makes for good staying inside times. We made a stop off at St Vinnies on the Parade first and Ruby found THE most awesome pants I’ve seen in quite some time. They are truly ugly in every way. So ugly they are amazing! Pants that only girls could love. They didn’t fit me so I forced her to buy them. It didn’t take much force mind you….

This is my favourite scarf in the world. It cost $1 and I witnessed it being knitted by a nanna at Goodies op shop!

It’s a bit colourful over here…

OMG these pants!!! Pretty devastated they didn’t fit me but super happy Ruby agreed they were awesome enough to buy!

This is awkward…. but side ponies rule!

You Gotta Live It Everyday.

I really love Stepney and the rickety streets around. It’s like the West but with more stuff going on around it. Just off Magill Road there are a few of these walls with some crazy artwork going on. Really cool stuff. This one is right out back of A.P Bond. If you haven’t been in there, go there. Make sure you take lots of money. Its a trap! I was convinced that this wall said “Darklands” and I’d already planned an ultra cool Jesus & Mary Chain tune but sadly it actually said “Badlands” so instead I’m stuck with the Boss. Yeah, not quite as cool…. Oh and I’m SO happy with my hair. This colour was accidental but it’s a colour I’ve never been able to achieve by trying to mix on my own. Blue over green goes crazy aqua! Yay!

Poser. Literally.

I matched my socks to my hair today. I’m serious.

I have a photograph of me on a kiddy potty on the side of the road when I was about two that this reminds me of. Weird I know. Sorry for the visuals.

Black, White and Blue. A favourite combo.

I discovered the hand after. I like it!

Watch Me Unravel, I’ll Soon Be Naked.

All these years later I still get the sweater song stuck in my head when I pull on a big fuzzy jumper. Theres nothing better in my opinion. The bigger the better. It’s not somewhere I would have naturally guessed would have great knits cheap but Sportsgirl always proves itself a winner in the jumper and cardigan department. There is almost always some kind of sale or discount happening. This particular one cost $30 on super sale and is pure Angora. None of that acrylic junk. I love winter. The colder the better. Really it’s because I like getting wrapped up like a snowman. Also, I cant be totally sure but I think this is actually a dress. It’s hard to tell. I always buy about two to three sizes too big in jumpers so maybe if it fit it would be. Mmmm…cozy.Thankfully I got my stolen face back (Make up was pinched too) and I have my face back. Hooray! Thanks MAC girls!

So it’s official. Blue dye is the colour that refuses to wash out. I think I’m stuck with it for good now!

We Could Slip Away. Wouldn’t That Be Better?

Well it certainly has been a super busy past week. Events going on all over the place but this past Friday at Coriole Winery in McLaren Vale was perhaps the nicest. It was my first visit there and I can definitely see what the appeal is. So pretty and quaint. It feels as if you’re just popping in to visit a friend. I went up there to help out my pal and business partner Simon who was putting on a bit of a spread for lunch. Being someone who cant cook, having friends who can sure has some perks. I’m forever living off of leftovers. Leftovers of the good kind!

Somehow, I telepathically knew that my dress would blend in perfectly with the orange Bouganvillea. Pity my camera guy for the day is a lousy photographer and I’m pulling the “just press the button” squinty face shot. Oh well, he made up for it with the food!

Food in action.

This is Lentil. I think everyone could relate to him by the end of the lunch. Sleepy and stuffed!

I’m Only Happy When The News Is Bad.

I really don’t have a whole lot to say. Well I do, but it’s all poor me and moaning and groaning and I really just can’t be bothered with all that. Long story short is that my handbag and computer were stolen last friday and I’ve been in a bit of a dream state ever since then. It’s quite horrible how much my things own me. Sigh. In any case, I’ve been dressing for comfort and not carrying a bag around anywhere. Kinda nice!

Basically I’ve been hanging out at home trying to find something to do with all the non computer time. This is just me and the Sausage spending some quality time on the balcony. His favourite thing is to stare at the traffic. He can sit there for hours! I’m not too sure what’s so exciting about it.

Hair still blue. I think it’s stained for good.

Sunday, Sunday Here Again.

I think this might possibly have been the laziest weekend I’ve had in a while. I’m totally ok with that. I love not doing anything and then panicking on Sunday night that I have a whole lot of tedious stuff to do. Working for oneself has ups and downs. This is both. It’s great to be flexile but it always has to be done. Boo.

One very exciting thing that happened this weekend was that my friend Nat finally made herself a little etsy store. Cute button earrings and hair accessories. I’ve been wearing them since she gave me some for my birthday and I couldn’t even count the amount of compliments they receive! You can find her little treasures at A Flick Of A Button.

Look! They match my hair!

The Quaker shop on Kensington Road is a bit of a gem. Sadly they don’t do Sundays.

Earrings!  so cute!

Another One Bites The Dust.

I think I mentioned a few posts ago that some lovely local youths were doing a little graffiti out back of my factory which I turned a blind eye to. Well, the results are fairly average. I wouldn’t exactly rate their artistic ability but I do appreciate that a bland wall is now at least a little colourful and the badass (or no ass) chick does have blue hair. This only came to my attention as I stood next to it. Super!

Hair still blue. I think maybe it’s my favourite of the pastels. It seems to be the hardest work though.

This is me making sex hair and trying to sun my pasty belly.

Shorts: Mink Pink, Crop Top: American Apparel, Shirt Thing: Supre, Belt: Junk Shop, Necklace: Salvos, Sunglasses: Ray-Ban, Shoes: Cotton On Kids.

Is it a shirt? Is it a cape? Is it a Kimono? I don’t care because it cost $2.50!

One great thing about having small feet is fitting into kids shoes and clothes. Cotton On Kids have squillions of cute ballet flats that go up to a size 6. Ladies with small feet check them out. The best part is they’re cheap. The even better part was that I got this pair and another for $12.99. Yay for shoes!
