A little while ago now I visited the conservatory at the Botanical Gardens. It was a little bit sad really. It’s not as lush and pretty as it once was and all the heating has been turned off. My blog has been suffering badly as I don’t have a camera at the moment and these are the only pictures with my orange hair! I’ve been orange for a while now. I think it’s my favourite. Strangely, I’ve had more comments on the orange hair than any other colour I’ve ever had. Surprising!

I figured I had better squish in a catch up post before this year is officially at an end. Somehow I’ve had more spare time but I’ve been paying less attention to my computer and all things internet in general. Not a bad thing really but I just get a bit behind. It’s fairly well documented and known by all that I hate christmas. Can’t stand it. How stressful does one day need to be? And really for what? Anyhoo, I’ve often copped a bit of flack for my Grinch like opinions of the day but I maintain my position. Especially after the food poisoning I was gifted on christmas night. Oh yeah, a gift that kept on giving! Three full days in bed, a visit from the ambos and a whole lot of white rice later I reentered the world. I’m still a bit exhausted from the whole thing but I do have a few things from christmas I can still enjoy. I got a few super gifts, one of which was a “supa-fit” version of myself. I like the name. It’s a dress form for my frock making and what not. I adjusted her all to my measurements and for the first time in my life I actually realised how small I am. Weird huh?! I got some jewels and hair bits and bobs and a voucher for two hours at Endota day spa which I’m saving for when I won’t just fall asleep on the massage table! It’s me and sup a-fit!
All those dials were pretty entertaining.
Oh, and I’m blonde again! Only because the pale purple washed out.
I’m was pretty happy with this dress. $13 from Nikki Fashion. It’s fully netted and poofy underneath too!

Photos I completely forgot about. Again. Random weekend driving around. I have no idea what we were doing but we ended up on some run down streets way out west. I love these wrecked sited. I really liked all the piles of old bombed out cars. I don’t know what it is….

The beach was being rather disagreeable with me this past weekend. I got sandblasted and seemed to end up in some kind of strange trance from all the sun exposure. I’m really not a summer person so it takes me a little adjusting. I have been trying my hardest to dress girly and summery. Despite most of my pics, my default clothing is layers of black and heavy boots. Girly doesn’t come particularly naturally so I can tend to go over the top. This skirt really isn’t my typical purchase but I found it adorable as soon as I saw it. It looks soft and frilly but is actually quite a stiff fabric. I like that. I’d never heard of this brand Passion Fusion that I found at LAX Fashion but I quite like all they have on offer. Cute stuff! Plus little stuff. Perfect for me!

So, I’ve been doing something that I typically don’t do….. comfort dressing. I’m almost ashamed to say it. Not that I’ve ever been the type of girl that wears heels all day and teeters around but I have always been a fan of the jeans so tight they’re practically compression stockings. I like it. I find something comforting about skin tight denim. They are essentially my version of a hugging machine. So now and then I look at pants and have mixed emotions. They always look sooo comfortable but in fabric that thin I might as well not be wearing pants. This is my strange logic. In any case, I saw these pants at the Supre clearance shop (a store I like a little bit too much given my usual taste) for $5.50 and I thought worst case scenario I’ll wear them around the house. Turns out I kinda like them. I feel like a different person in this more puffy silhouette though. WEIRD!
There it is… the hair flicking shot.
Your butt feels everything when it’s only covered in a thin layer of cotton. None of that tough denim protection!
It’s rare for me to admit but I’m actually really liking my hair colour at the moment. Pity it will wash out before I next leave the house. Also, I’m so glad I got these glasses. I almost didn’t because of the weird colour but I actually kinda love them now. Win!
We took these pictures months ago. I actually thought I’d put them up already. I sort of dressed like a ridiculous cartoon character on this day so it seemed fitting to run into this crazy mural. I have no idea how I’d never spotted it before?! It is just tucked away running off Franklin street (I think) in the city and covers quite a bit of length down the street. I don’t know anything about it other than I think it’s cute and that I wish there was more of this wall art around the place. It adds so much colour and interest to an otherwise dull little street. It was particularly lucky that I dressed like a 90’s teenager on this day to match the wall.
Being eaten by a garage monster. I’m pretty sure I’d be tasteless and stringy by now.
It kinda appears that I’m performing some kind of dance move. I’m pretty sure I would have been swatting flies or something.
Often where the finger should be pointed.
The obligatory playing-with-my-hair photo. There’s one in every session.

We took these pictures over a month ago. I’m not totally sure why I haven’t put them up yet but the day to day busy busy has pretty much left me lobotomized by 10pm every night. I sit on the computer and stare. That’s it. To tired to actually do anything. Too tired to read anything. Too tired to get off the chair and actually go to bed. I’ll do this until at least midnight. It’s my weird tired routine. I think it’s winter. I’ve never much been a summer person but I keep finding myself looking forward to the warm. I try not to vocalise this as a general rule because the only thing I enjoy complaining about more than being cold is complaining about the suffocating heat. I need a perfect climate controlled 24 degrees all the time and I’m happy. None of this of course has anything to do with these pictures. I can’t actually remember why we were driving around the streets of Elizabeth on a saturday afternoon but it did find us some perfect back drops. These pics don’t do this property justice. It was way worse in actual real life than the picture. You can’t really tell, but I was actually extremely nervous whilst standing out front of this house with Cobus snapping away. Big dogs were barking and all the neighbours were peering out of windows suspiciously. Just living up to the stereo types. I kinda love it though. I don’t know why but I find it so fascinating. Next time we might stay the night?!

For those of you that didn’t know, today marked the end of an era. After six years of working for myself and being part of my own little world we shut the doors of our little business. It’s been a long time in the works and wasn’t a decision made easily. 24/7 stress and being on call and switched on ALL the time has certainly left me a bit frayed and wanting of something simpler and easier…. for the time being in any case! It’s bitter sweet. I”ll certainly miss the freedoms and people I’ve been so lucky to encounter a long the way but it gives me a new space and clear head to move on with new things. I’m an employee now rather than an employer which in itself is a new adjustment. Something I didn’t really think I’d do again.I must say though, it is kinda nice to remove a few (like a hundred) layers of stress. Also there are new exciting things in the works but for now I’m just happy to keep things a little more laid back. I’m still having fun on the side with dirt(y) and who knows where that might take me. I never would have expected a box of cereal to pay my wages and several other peoples for all these years but strange things happen right?!
In any case, when I get moving and hauling stuff around, I get back to comfortable and what I know. Basically I dress like I’m 15. Actually, I have owned this jacket since I was 15. Maybe younger even. Once upon a time when parkas were THE indie kid item. Proof that through everything some things will never change!
These were taken a few weeks back now. Cobus had mentioned he’d found an old dilapidated building on Payneham road so we went to check it out. It turned out to be impossible to park at so we drove around the streets behind it and accidentally found the “All you need is love” wall. It’s kinda cute. I’m especially liking the Miami Vice choice of coloured spray paint! It was a hard choice of which side to get pics on because they were both nice. So we did both. Naturally.
This dress has to be one of my favourites. It’s an actual proper winter dress. Not just layer upon layer. I bought it from AsianiCandy.com after seeing it on another blogger Kani and falling in love. The same coloured cardigan was an accidental oversight when picture taking! Oops! Super cute, super warm and super CHEAP! It was about $30 from memory and it’s actually wool! No complaints from me. If you like something a bit quirky and different it’s definitely worth a visit!
A white brick wall is always the best.
Love the winter sun!
Amazing that the dilapidated wall I was standing against didn’t fall over.
This is the “I look like I’ve just had a quickie pose”.

Pink and red are pretty much my all time favourite colour combo. I remember when I was young being told that pink and red don’t go together. Kinda like the spots and stripes rule. Well I’ve never liked rules so it’s pretty much a given I’ll do my best to break them. I don’t bust this Wonder Womanesque belt out often enough either. I actually completely forget about it only to be a little bit excited every time I find it in my drawers. Probably a sign that my drawers are too full but who cares really. Purple is a colour I rarely wear. This jumper though hast to be THE softest and fluffiest thing I own. Love a bit of cashmere. Only problem is it leaves purple balls on everything I touch. I think I can cope with that for the sake of cuddliness though! Both jumper and skirt are from Myer. Myer actually has some cute and cheap stuff hidden amongst the their overflowing disorganised racks. That store always surprises me. It always resembles a cheapo bargain store. Weird.
I normally put a song I just kinda like but generally has no relation to anything I’ve written… oh, wait, this is the same. Check it out though! Ok Go always make the most creative and wacky videos. This one is just plain cute.
